From Wednesday 1 April 2026 to Wednesday 3 June 2026  |  Bebington Civic Centre

Course Details

Join me on a journey to ancient Egypt. Learn about the decipherment of hieroglyphs, why the Egyptians mummified the dead, and the link between ‘magic’ and healing. This course will examine aspects of life and death, including where the ancient Egyptians lived and the tombs they created for eternity. We will also study the concept of divine kingship, and the role pharaoh played in governing Egypt. A variety of evidence will be reviewed including archaeological, material culture (objects), and texts in translation. This course lays the foundation for further study.
