Have you ever felt that you ‘just didn’t get’ a work of art, whether it be a painting, sculpture or installation piece? Have you been left even more confused having read the ‘explanatory’ label?  If so, then this is the course for you. This introductory course seeks to engage you with all aspects of fine art, encouraging you to look and to consider what the artist was seeking to achieve and then to be able to critique that work with confidence. This is a practical course which will focus on works in major international collections and is designed to assist art lovers, at any level, to get more out of a visit to a museum or gallery. A tour of the Walker Art Gallery will be undertaken in week 5.
